We must admit that Ramadan is quite a strange time—which we love! It is when you could be bawling and shedding tears of emotion during one show, then rip a hearty chortle while watching an ad. In celebration of all the ads and shows that stirred our emotions—any emotions—throughout the Holy month, voting for the Ramadan awards of the Creative Industry Summit is now open. Now, you can’t let all your strong opinions on all the shows of this Ramadan go to waste!

The Creative Industry Summit was founded in Egypt in 2014, revolutionising the creative industry locally, regionally, and even globally! Through uniting the people of the creative sector in one conference, the Creative Industry Summit became a renowned ground for inspiration, innovation, and fun.

Then, the Creative Industry Summit expanded to encompass more than just an annual conference teeming with networking opportunities. Introducing the Ramadan Awards ceremony in 2023, the Creative Industry Summit now has everyone, even the viewers, involved; they’re not leaving anyone behind to wallow in their FOMO.

Divided into four categories, this year the awards celebrate the exceptional dramas, comedies, and general production work and acting. From directors and actors to composers and writers, there’s an award for every field involved in the making of our favourite Ramadan masterpieces.

With seven different awards specifically for dramas, the summit is to award prizes for the best drama series episode, best drama actor, best drama actress, best supporting drama actor, best supporting drama actress, best drama screenwriter, and the best 30-episode drama series. 

As for the comedy category, it includes the same exact awards as its drama counterparts, save the best 30-episode award.

The rest of the awards include production work and acting, for which 13 awards will be given out. From the best director of photography, best director of a long series, best director of a short series, best composer, and best costume designer to the best soundtrack, best rising actress and actor, best child actor, best VFX, best editor, best set designer, and best production, the awards ensure the recognition of all the best.

Through the Creative Industry Summit website, you can now vote for Ramadan’s best actors and actresses, screenwriters, directors, soundtracks, and costume designers, among others.
