The Netherlands-Flemish Institute in Cairo hosts the screening of 1932’s classic ‘The Mummy’. Directed by Karl Freund, the movie takes us back to 1921, when an archaeological expedition finds the mummy of Imhotep, an ancient Egyptian priest, who had been mummified alive for attempting to resurrect his forbidden lover, the princess Ankh-es-en-amon.
