‘Journey Around My Living Room’ by Hala Elkoussy at Mashrabia Gallery
Inspired by Xavier De Maistre’s 1794 book Voyage autour de ma chambre (Voyage Around My Room) – am autobiographical account of how a young official examines the details of his room during a six-week imprisonment – Hala Elkoussy’s applies the same principles in studying the minutia of Downtown Cairo through the art of photography.
