Achieving the “clean girl” aesthetic starts with fresh, healthy skin. From viral TikToks to celebrity skincare influencers, everyone is talking about the best way to clear up your face and get a healthy glow. Thankfully, our days of lamenting over our screens as we watch yet another review for skincare we can’t have are over. Some of the most viral holy grails of skincare have finally made their way onto our shelves. Although these products have been getting rave reviews, it’s important to consult with a dermatologist regarding your skin before trying any new items.
CeraVe
CeraVe has quickly become a favourite in the skincare industry, and for good reason. The brand has been “developed with dermatologists” to create a line of products enriched with three essential ceramides that aim to help repair your skin’s natural barrier. CeraVe has recently appeared on shelves in Egypt and does not have a steep price tag compared to other foreign skincare brands. They also have a wide selection of products that suit different skin types.
The Ordinary
Known for their reasonable prices and effective products, The Ordinary has achieved cult status. Their serums, oils, cleansers, moisturisers and more are made with reliable ingredients like Niacinamide and Hyaluronic acid. More importantly, there are no unnecessary fragrances or harsh chemicals. The ordinary is now available in select places like Bloom Pharmacy.
La Roche-Posay
A long-time favourite amongst Egyptians with skin issues, La Roche-Posay is available in almost any pharmacy. It’s also one of the most popular skincare brands worldwide and has been both tested and prescribed by dermatologists. Items like their Effaclar Duo + have been trending online thanks to its effectiveness in clearing up and preventing acne.
Paula’s Choice
The two per cent BHA Liquid Exfoliant from Paula’s Choice has become absolutely iconic. Unlike harsher scrubs, this product exfoliates gently with Salicylic Acid and Beta Hydroxy Acid to unclog your pores. It also smoothes wrinkles and brightens and evens out skin tone. Although it may be overpriced, Paula’s Choice is finally available in Egypt.
Pixi
Pixi beauty has been making waves across social media all summer with products like their On-the-Glow blush and bronzer. Their Glow Tonic facial toner is also a best seller and 2021 Glamour Beauty Award winner. Its immense popularity comes from its ability to deeply clean pores by removing excess oils and impurities. Pixi’s skin toner is available in pharmacies and online.
Rilastil
This Italian brand covers all your skincare needs, no matter the issue. Rilastil has been tested by dermatologists and formulated to be hypoallergenic and noncomedogenic. Their sunscreen line has been trending for its formula, strong protection and super smooth feeling after applying it. Rilastil is available in Egypt for reasonable prices.
