Craving Swiss cuisine? Or perhaps you’re wondering what that might entail? If you like cold cuts, fondue, and grills, you’ll enjoy visiting any of these great Swiss spots. Unfortunately, while Egypt once had a solid presence of Swiss restaurants, many have closed in recent years. Luckily, these fantastic options are still around for us to enjoy!

Swiss Cottage Restaurant

Swiss Cottage in Maadi is a quaint and cosy spot to have dinner. Get the authentic Swiss experience by cooking at the table and enjoying fondue and raclette. For dessert, you can also get a Swiss chocolate fondue!

Address: 21, Road 254, Maadi, Cairo

Le Chantilly

Le Chantilly has a breakfast, lunch, and dinner menu, as well as the crowd favourite Swiss fondue. While other cuisine options are found on the menu, like pasta and cordon bleu, Swiss speciality options like vealeEmincé a la Zurichoise (sliced veal with mushroom sauce) and saucisses tessinoise (a type of sausage) are definitely worth a try.

Address: 1 Baghdad St, El-Montaza, Heliopolis, Cairo

La Chesa

La Chesa is a restaurant with a solid pastry menu featuring croissants, pates, and danishes. Their options include staple Egyptian and Swiss items for breakfast and dinner. For the former, you could get a Swiss breakfast featuring yoghurt, juice, pastries and tea or a unique Swiss speciality order, beef paillard. For dessert, you could go for their profiterole suchard or meringue suchard.

Swiss House

While this one’s not in Cairo, Swiss House is home to truly authentic Swiss cuisine that can’t not be mentioned. Beef carpaccio, Swiss pancake soup, cheese fondue, raclette, seared beef on a hot stone, Zurich-style beef, and many more options can be found on this restaurant’s menu! The desserts are equally appetising, featuring apple beignets and Swiss chocolate fondue!
