Over the last few years, Cairo, as well as the rest of the world, has developed an appetite for Mexican food. But Mexican isn’t the only amazing Hispanic cuisine. We’re here to guide you through the best Hispanic restaurants in Cairo, Mexican and otherwise.
Pinchos Tapas Bar & Restaurant
One of the most loved Spanish tapas lounges in Cairo, Pinchos, celebrates the authentic tapas menu prepared by their chef Raúl Garcia. Located at the heart of Heliopolis, it has earned its reputation by always bringing Spanish tapas straight across the Mediterranean. The prices are fair for the main menu, but veering towards high for alcoholic drinks, even the non-imported ones.
El Barrio
Meaning ‘the neighbourhood’ in Spanish, El Barrio aims to deliver the most authentic experience of Cuba’s best neighbourhoods. Also located in Heliopolis, El Barrio prides itself in its exceptional atmosphere and expanded menu of Cuban delicacies. However, food and drinks are a bit overpriced.
Cascada
Located in Nasr City, Cascada is a hidden gem. Alongside the general Mediterranean and Middle Eastern food, Cascada specialises in Spanish and Latin food. The food is authentic to its origins, as well as flavourful. One of its most celebrated features, however, is the freshly made healthy juice which is usually prepared right in front of you.
Tabla Luna
Tabla Luna is a Latin American bistro in Al-Maadi that serves both traditional and modern selected dishes from Peru, Ecuador, Argentina, Mexico, and Bolivia. Tabla Luna uses homegrown organic products and has decent prices.
La Taberna
We start with tapas, and we end with tapas! Spanish all the way! Located at El Sheikh Zayed, La Taberna is a resto-pub, basically a full bar that serves food, where the food is either Spanish or Latin. The prices are a little high, especially for alcoholic drinks.
