U-BBQ has just opened its doors in New Cairo, bringing the area its first authentic Korean BBQ experience. Every table is equipped with a grill, allowing you to cook your meal right in front of you, adding a fun and interactive element to dining. Whether you’re gathering with friends or family, the hands-on grilling creates a unique and memorable experience. With bold flavours and a vibrant atmosphere, U-BBQ promises to be a standout destination for anyone looking to try something new.

The moment you walk into U-BBQ, you feel right at home. The walls are decorated with fun drawings of Korean food and people enjoying meals together, making the space feel warm and welcoming. Each table has a grill in the middle, and the drop-down lights above it make the whole experience even more exciting. Quotes about the joy of sharing Korean food are scattered across the walls, reminding you that this isn’t just about eating—it’s about making memories. Whether for lunch or dinner, U-BBQ is perfect for spending time with friends or family, turning cooking into a fun, shared activity.

U-BBQ offers a variety of authentic Korean appetisers, giving you a true taste of Korea right from the start. The beef spring rolls (EGP 136) were a standout—crispy on the outside, yet tender and juicy inside, making each bite satisfying and flavourful. The teriyaki rice cakes (EGP 90) were another must-try, with just the right chewy texture and a rich, savoury sauce that was bursting with flavour. Unfortunately, the dumplings (EGP 147) were a bit of a letdown, as they came out a little too soggy. If you’re heading to U-BBQ, definitely go for the beef spring rolls and rice cakes—they’re the perfect way to start your meal.

For the main dish, we went with the beef onion teriyaki (EGP 227), and it was easily the star of the day. The beef arrives raw, and you get to cook it yourself on the grill in front of you, which adds to the whole experience. Toss in the onions and teriyaki from a separate dish, and you control how it’s cooked. The beef grills in seconds and is incredibly tender—melting in your mouth with each bite. The onions caramelise beautifully, and the teriyaki sauce adds a perfect balance of sweet and savoury flavours that tie everything together.

We also tried the herbed butter chicken, which was just as impressive. Once grilled, the chicken had a juicy, buttery taste with a hint of herbs that made each bite rich and flavorful. Both dishes offer a unique, hands-on experience that makes dining at U-BBQ not only delicious but fun, too.

To wash down the meal, we had the peach iced tea, which was the perfect refresher. It was light, crisp, and not overly sweet, making it an ideal balance to the rich flavours of the meal. The peach flavour (EGP 40) was subtle yet fresh, and the drink’s coolness made it extra satisfying after cooking and enjoying all the grilled meats. It’s a must-try if you want something refreshing to sip on between bites!

Best Bit

The service was fantastic, and the food arrived quickly, making the whole experience even more enjoyable.

Worst Bit

The dumplings were a bit of a letdown—definitely not as impressive as the rest of the menu.
