When it comes to comfort food, pizza
wins hands down. It might be because of the way it melts in our mouths or the
fact that it takes us back to mmories of fun-filled friends’ gatherings. Whatever the
reason is, pizza is the only food that can make us indulge in a guilt-free
calorie-laden meal.
Luckily for us, Pizza Hut offers
fresh, delicious pizza with various toppings that satisfy all taste buds. With
plenty of branches throughout Cairo, we headed for Pizza Hut’s branch in City
Center on Makram Ebeid Street.
The fast food chain’s entrance is
located outside the mall. However, once we stepped inside, we found ourselves
in Hardee’s. After climbing up a flight of stairs, we finally reached Pizza Hut.
The menu at Pizza Hut features beef,
fish, chicken and veggie toppings. You can have the pan, thin and crispy,
stuffed crust, double-stuffed crust or the cheesy bites pizza.
We kicked things off with the salad
(16LE). We were only allowed to visit the salad bar once, so we did what any
hungry person in their right mind would do; we crammed as much salad as we could
onto the poor platter. The result was a mountain of salad that earned us a few glances
from other patrons.
We then ordered the chicken spring
rolls (11LE), which arrived with the pizza. Four spring rolls were topped with
molten cheese and served with Heinz barbecue sauce. The rolls were so bland in
flavour and mundane; we ended up completely ignoring them and focused on our
pizza instead.
Served moderately hot, the stuffed
crust medium-sized chicken supreme pizza (43LE) was even better than we’d
expected. Topped with sliced chicken, mushroom and onion as well as green
pepper, olive and tomato, the medium-sized pizza is best shared between two
people. The pizza’s edges are stuffed with molten cheese.
The only drawback to it was the
scarcity of the toppings. Nonetheless, we can’t deny that we enjoyed it to the
very last bite.
Gluttony took over and we decided to
order a slice of lasagna (15LE). Served lukewarm, we were very sceptical about
its freshness. However, we finished it all up.
We thought we had room for more; so
we ordered the chocolate cake (14LE). One bite was enough to assure us that
it was delicious, but after everything we’d eaten, finishing the cake would have been
suicide.
Although Pizza Hut might not offer
the best pizzas in Cairo, it’s definitely our first option when the craving for
pizza just has to be satisfied.
