Watch: The Wanton Bishops are Coming to Cairo Jazz Club, Get on Board or Get Out of the Way
Cairo 360
Cairo is littered with some pretty decent gigs throughout the week – the best of which you can check out here – but one of the biggest – if not the biggest – music events comes on Thursday 14th at Cairo Jazz Club, where Lebanese rockers, The Wanton Bishops, are set to take to the stage.
Having formed in 2011 over a mutual love of blues, the band have come to be one of the most popular groups in the Middle East. Fronted by the charismatic Nader Mansour, The Wanton Bishops’ devil-may-care attitude on stage and fusion of blues and garage rock has won them plenty of fans in Lebanon, the Middle East and beyond, with their 2012 debut EP, Bad Rhyme, finding itself on the radars of media in France, Turkey and Sweden amongst other places.
They’ve since toured in Europe and the Middle East – and their stock continues to rise as one of the most unique rock outfits in the region.
