One of the standout moments of 2024 has been watching the surge of health and wellness trends take over social media platforms. Romanticising self-care journeys and encouraging younger generations to prioritise their mental and physical well-being, here are six wellness trends we’re absolutely loving!

1- Swapping Coffee with Matcha

For those who might not know, matcha contains caffeine, making it an excellent alternative to coffee—especially the instant kind. This trend is particularly popular in office environments where caffeine culture runs deep. Matcha not only keeps you focused and alert but helps you moderate your caffeine intake. With around 70 mg of caffeine, it’s much gentler than instant coffee, which can spike up to 140 mg and trigger stress-inducing hormones.

2- Bone Broth

Surprisingly, the tradition of cooking and consuming bone broth for bone health has been passed down through Egyptian generations for years. Now, it’s found its way back to our TikTok FYPs. Renowned for its various health benefits, bone broth is a great way to support bone health and can also aid in soothing cold and flu symptoms.

3- Hot Girl Walks

The hot girl walk trend started with aesthetic Pinterest boards and quickly found its way into TikTok vlogs. It encourages young women to get their steps in, which is especially important in a world where we often spend most of our time studying or working at desks. Romanticising this simple activity makes moving around feel a bit more fun while keeping things cutesy and demure.

4- Chlorophyll

Praised for its benefits in supporting gut health and improving body odour, chlorophyll is another wellness trend we highly recommend exploring. Just make sure to check in with your doctor before incorporating it into your routine to ensure it’s the right fit for your body.

5- Chamomile Tea

Herbal teas have made a comeback, with chamomile standing out in particular. Drinking chamomile tea before bed can help reduce stress, improve sleep quality, and fight off insomnia—all without the side effects of sleeping pills like daytime grogginess.

6- Gratitude Journals

Journaling is often seen as a great way to clear your mind, but some feel it can increase anxiety. That’s where gratitude journals come in. Practising gratitude can be an excellent way to stay mindful and positive, even through stressful times. Writing down what you’re grateful for allows you to reflect on your true feelings and revisit them whenever life gets tough.
