We all know by now that Egypt will be hosting the Africa Cup of Nations 2019. Just last week, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced that Egypt would be taking the honours of hosting the competition instead of Cameroon.
Today we bring you updates regarding the grand event. The board of the Egyptian Football Association (EFA), led by Hany Abo Rida, recently met with the Minister of Sports, Ashraf Sobhy, and decided on assigning six stadiums to host the matches of the competition.
So if you’re planning to attend any of these exciting games, set to take place next June, take note. The games will be played in Cairo Stadium, Al-Salam Stadium, Alexandria Stadium, Ismailia Stadium, Suez Stadium, and Port Said Stadium. With 30 June Stadium, aka the Air Defense Forces Stadium, being named as a backup venue.
Attending any of the matches will undoubtedly offer a unique experience, but in case you can’t make plans to attend all the games, you can watch them live on local TV channels; Nile Sports, DMC, and ON Sport will all air all the matches. At least you can find solace in not having to pay subscription fees to watch your own nation’s football team on the field.
