EFG Hermes KidZania Cairo

Investing isn’t just for grown-ups anymore! EFG Hermes, the leading investment bank in the MENA region, has teamed up with KidZania Cairo to introduce the world’s second stock trading experience for children and the first in MENA. This groundbreaking initiative is designed to make finance fun, turning young visitors into mini investors through hands-on learning.
Buy, Sell, Play: The Ultimate Finance Game for Kids
Forget boring lectures; this is finance with a twist. Kids aged 8 to 14 will get their first taste of the stock market using a simplified version of the EFG Hermes ONE trading app, customised just for them. Armed with 15 KidZos (KidZania’s own currency), they’ll buy, sell, and strategise their way to success, all while learning how to grow their money in a safe, gamified environment.
Real-Life Stocks, Kid-Sized Decisions
The magic happens at the new EFG Hermes branch inside KidZania Cairo, where kids can trade shares from 45 real companies. But here’s the cool part, the market fluctuates based on visitor demand, so kids can actually see how supply, demand, and business performance affect stock prices. At the end of their trading journey, they can cash in their KidZos for rewards, adding an extra layer of excitement to the learning experience.
Why It Matters: The Future of Financial Literacy Starts Young
May El Gammal, Group Chief Marketing & Communications Officer of EFG Holding, sees this as more than just a game—it’s a stepping stone for a financially savvy generation. “Understanding money from an early age is key to building a smart and empowered future. This partnership allows us to bring financial literacy to kids in the most engaging way possible.”
Ahmed Ibrahim Habib, CEO of KidZania Cairo, agrees. “We’ve all wished we learned more about money in school. This collaboration helps bridge that gap, giving kids the financial skills they’ll need for life. Bringing this concept to life was no small feat.
Mohamed Fathy, Chief Information Officer at EFG Holding, highlights the technology behind the project: “We built a stock market simulator specifically for kids, making it simple, smart, and fun. It’s incredible to see children dive into the world of investing at such a young age.”
With over 2.5 million visitors to KidZania Cairo over the years, this initiative is set to redefine how kids interact with money and business. More than just a game, it’s a fun-sized preview of real-world investing, shaping the next wave of smart decision-makers.
