2 days ago, Samsung announced that it will be acquiring an Egyptian startup called Kngine. Led by two Egyptian siblings, Haitham and Ashraf Elfadeel, Kngine was established in 2008.
The brothers wanted to develop a much more accurate search engine, by means of advancing forward the artificial intelligence utilized by modern-day search engines. With this goal achieved, Samsung has officially purchased the startup, so as to use its technological breakthroughs in developing Bixby: the Samsung equivalent to Siri. Indeed, the technology developed by the brothers ensures an AI that will be excellently equipped in providing Bixby’s users with the most accurate of search results to date.
