With this being the last weekend before Ramadan, there's plenty to see and do across the capital before the revelry of the Holy Month kicks in.
On Thursday, Wust El Balad kick off the weekend at CJC with a memorable live performance, while Aly Goede gets behind the decks for VENT’s Club Night.
Neil Edward is on musical duties at Maadi’s The Tap, while Cavallini comes alive with the sound of commercial house music.
Entertainment at the Fairmont Nile City includes the soulful singer Riham Mostafa at Onyx Lounge, Lana at Saigon Restaurant & Lounge, as well as belly dancer Soraya at Bab El Nil. Fairmont Nile City’s Napa Grill also hosts a Seafood Festival that’s not to be missed.
The Cairo Opera House Ballet Company and Cairo Opera House Ensemble combine forces to perform a rendition of ‘Osiris’, ‘El Leila El Kebira’, and ‘Oriental Steps’ at the Main Hall of the Cairo Opera House.
On Friday, VENT celebrate the Season 002 Closing with a lineup that includes ISMAEL, $$$TAG$$$ and Warpaint Kollektiv, while CJC hosts a double duo bill between A-Squared and Gawdat.
Popular Lebanese singer Yasmine Hamdan gears up for a huge gig at the Music Tent, while reggae enthusiasts Reggang deliver personal cuts and Bob Marley edits at The Tap.
Vintage Bar & Lounge hosts a Karaoke Night for the young and shameless, while Cavallini channels all things Levant for Lebanese Night.
Contemporary Egyptian music group, Ayamna El Helwa, takes the stage at the River Hall of El Sawy Culturewheel, while the Talents Development Center gear up for a special Concert at the Small Hall of the Cairo Opera House.
On Saturday, Shady Ahmed performs a selection of acoustic numbers at The Tap, while popular local group Salalem take the stage at CJC.
Peking Lodge hosts its very own Karaoke Night, while Cavallini takes a trip down memory lane with Oldies Night.
The Cairo Symphony Orchestra performs works by Max Bruch, Tchaikovsky, and Felix Mendelssohn at the Main Hall of the Cairo Opera House, while the Talents Development Center performs for a second night at the Small Hall.
Art galleries this week include the ’23 Artists’ exhibition at Art Lounge encompassing drawings, paintings and sculptures, as well as, ‘The Nile- A River of Continues Inspiration’ by revered Sudanese artist Mohamed Omar Khalil at Gypsum Gallery.
