Cairo Weekend Guide: El Fusion, 100LIVE Festival and More!
Cairo 360
Hello Cairo!
What a hot week it’s been! While most people would rather be on the beach this weekend, not all of us can, so here’s what you can do to keep yourself entertained in the city.
On Thursday, CJC hosts the first night of its annual El Fusion series, featuring Sweden-based, Nadine Khalidi, Tarab and local favourites West El Balad, while Alchemy holds another alluring sangria night in Scarlet’s Vintage Brew.
Find your inner Rastafarian at VENT with an evening of Sudanese rhythms and timeless reggae at On the Sudanese-Jamaican Border or head over to O Bar at the Fairmont Nile City and catch DJ Mounir Zakhry for a night unbridled house music.
If house music is not your forte, catch Ellie of London jazzing up Saigon Restaurant & Lounge, or get buy-one-get-one-free cocktails at Buddha Bar’s Ladies Night at Sofitel Gezira.
Fancy some art? Head over to Art Corner and witness the fabulous Colourful Passion exhibition by Hanan Ghanem, or join Waled Taher at the opening of his exhibition, Witnesses, at Gallery Misr.
On Friday, 100Copies Music is back with the 8th edition of the 100LIVE Electronic Music Festival featuring NeoByrd, Wetrobots and Bosaina among others at Rawabet Theater, while CJC hosts Friday Fever featuring DJ Special K and DJ Mayounnah.
Head over to VENT and catch the Warpaint Kollektiv for a night of banging techno, or if you’re into hip hop, head back to O Bar and catch DJ Feedo ripping up the decks.
If you don’t party very hard, catch the beautiful Shaima and her sultry sounds at Saigon or put on your dance shoes for a Salsa and Latin Night over at Overtime Bar and Restaurant.
For the artist in you, join Khan Fonoon for the Tawasol exhibition of Hend ElFalafly and Abdel Mabod Nageb, or if you’re into photography, catch the Children’s World exhibition at ElSawy Culturewheel.
On Saturday, wind down your weekend at The Garden with Recovery Saturdays, or head over to Alchemy for the best cure for a hangover with There’s Something Bloody about Mary.
Take a trip down memory lane with Hisham Tiba at Graffiti’s Retro Lounge or head over to CJC for an interactive rendition of Taxi by the Thousand Tongues followed by local pop-rock act Cherine’s Poject.
If you’re in Maadi, visit Tipsy Bar & Lounge for a jazzy night with Ellie of London or head back to the Rawabet Theater for the second night of 100LIVE or go Lebanese at Bamboo with DJ Aly and DJ Kiko with another edition of Lebanese Love.
Join the 15 talented female artists that make up the Kunouz Group for the opening of their exhibition at Al Kahila Art Gallery.
