Finally comes a long weekend, where we can get to both unwind, and go out and about. As usual, the city has what it takes to keep you entertained, no matter what you’re into. Check it out:

Thursday begins with a Sufi night at Cairo Opera House, where Mahmoud El Tohami takes to the Open-Air Theatre’s stage for a round of chants, while May Abdel Aziz flaunts her musical talents on stage at ROOM Art Space Garden City. Darb 1718 hosts an R&B and rap night, welcoming Afrotto to the stage for a spectrum of tunes.

Speaking of R&B, Doggy Dogg takes to the decks at The Tap Maadi, while DJ Armen V is the star of the show at The Tap East. If you feel like listening to some guilty-pleasure –and slightly soppy – pop tunes, then head to The Tap West, where another edition of Cheeseballs takes place.

Amro and the Big Bang Boogie is set to take to the stage at Cairo Jazz Club this Thursday

Elsewhere, Cairo Jazz Club welcomes local bands, The Woodpeckers and Amro and the Big Bang Boogie, for a night where rock & roll, jazz, and blues meet, while it’s a house music night at Cairo Jazz 610, where the massive lineup includes Hisham Zahran.

On Friday, Khan take to the stage for a round of Oriental tunes at El Sawy Culturewheel, while Stars of Bolshoi take to the stage for a gala performance on the stage at Cairo Opera House. Egypt International Exhibition Center hosts Turathna; an exhibition that gathers a collection of handmade products by local artisans.

As part of its Oktoberfest celebration, Cairo Jazz Club hosts a night that sees Walk-A-Tone playing unplugged tunes, Herr Diebold und Kollega rocking the stage, and DJunkie spinning some R&B on the decks. Meanwhile at Cairo Jazz Club in Mohandiseen, Omar Tarek, Timour Omar, and Sagitario take to the decks for a house night, while DJ STZ plays the same genre, but spinning his tunes at The Tap East. DJFeedo, and Soul Mare on the menu at The Tap West for an R&B night.

Egyptian Project are set to take to the stage at Cairo Jazz Club this Saturday (Egyptian Project / Facebook)

Saturday comes with Amira El Beely recites some poems on stage at El Sawy Culturewheel, Asyad El Zar play some traditional Egyptian tunes, while Egybadour take to the stage at ROOM Art Space Garden City for a night of medieval and Latin songs.

When the night grows older, Egyptian Project take to the stage at Cairo Jazz Club for a round of Oriental tunes, DJ Tata spins some disco and funk on the decks at The Tap Maadi, which also happens to be the genre that Zahran is set to play at The Tap West.

That’s just the tip of the iceberg, check the Cairo 360 Events page for more things to do and places to go this weekend.
