Hallowe’en is fast-approaching, and while we all love to imagine the creative, memorable, and absolutely killer costumes we’d love to shock all our friends with, it doesn’t always work out as planned. You’ll often realise that that Hallowe’en event is just a couple days away and you haven’t even begun to put together your look. Don’t fear! We have a little list of some fast, easy, and accessible costumes you can throw together last minute!
Witch
A classic. All you really need for this ensemble is a witch’s hat, some dark flowy clothes, and whatever spooky makeup you’d like! Bonus points if you carry around a broom for the whole night.
Rosie the Riveter
This iconic image is easy to recognise and easy to recreate. All you need is a denim (or just blue) top, a red bandana, and an attitude of empowerment.
Vampire
If you can find some plastic fangs at any cheapo costume shop, you’ve pretty much got a costume. Add some dark eye makeup, some sultry clothes (a leather jacket if you want an edgy spin on this look) and a couple dots on your neck so you appear bitten. Voila!
Have you Seen this Wizard?
Dress as any sinister Harry Potter character you’d like, or even just be yourself! All you need for this look is a frame cutout of the “Have you seen this wizard?” poster. Now, hold it around your head all night.
Ghost
This is by far the easiest – you got a white sheet? Done.
Mouse/Cat/Whatever
If you have any animal ears lying around, all that’s left to do is draw on a nose, some whiskers, and that’s pretty much it.
Pirate
Boots, a button up shirt, an eye patch, a bandana (or hat), and just keep saying ARRR. Easy!
Raining Men
Okay…so this costume may be a little hard for someone to guess at first, but as soon as you start singing the classic song to them, they’ll most likely get a real kick out of it. Get an umbrella, tie some strings to it, and attach some photos of men. Any men. Boom, it’s raining men.
Ventriloquist Dummy
These things are creepy, but also make a surprisingly easy costume. Pile on lots of dark eye makeup, draw some lines from your mouth to your chin, and wear a suit.
Negan from the Walking Dead OR Steve Harrington from Stranger Things
If you have a baseball bat, you can easily recreate the look of one of these iconic television characters. For Negan, you’ll need a simple outfit of jeans, white tee, leather jacket, and red scarf. For Steve, you’ll need an equally simple outfit consisting of jeans and a gray jacket. Just make sure you look a bit more 80s inspired.
So…what will YOU be this Hallowe’en?
