Cairo is welcoming a vibrant new experience with the arrival of Lawenha Festival, an event that combines culture, entertainment, tourism, and art all in one place. After gaining popularity in Lebanon and later expanding across Gulf countries, the festival has now made its way to Egypt, bringing with it its energetic spirit and colourful identity. Built around the idea of “colouring life with music and culture”, Lawenha promises visitors an exciting and memorable experience.
A Festival That Started Beyond Egypt

Lawenha Festival was first launched in 2013 and quickly built a strong reputation. It was held in Lebanon for three years and became known as one of Beirut’s longest-running festivals, hosting more than 200 exhibitors from both public and private sectors.
In 2016, Mohamed Nabil Naji took over the festival and worked alongside tourism authorities and local organisations to expand its reach across the region.
More Than Just a Typical Festival
The festival was designed to be more than just a social gathering. Its mission focuses on raising cultural awareness while creating an enjoyable environment for visitors. University students and community organisations regularly participate, helping create a space where education, creativity, and entertainment come together.
Live Music Will Be a Major Part of the Experience

Music lovers can look forward to a special performance by Hammam Ibrahim, who is set to bring energy and excitement to the festival stage. Live entertainment plays a major role in the festival’s atmosphere, adding another layer of excitement to the overall experience.
Food Vendors Add to the Festival Experience

Visitors can also enjoy a variety of food options throughout the event. Popular spots, including Tant, Qahwatna, and The Burger Factory, will be serving festival-goers, giving everyone the chance to enjoy meals and snacks while exploring the activities.
Free Entry Makes It Accessible for Everyone
One of the festival’s biggest highlights is that entry is completely free. This makes it an accessible outing for families, students, and anyone looking for a lively day out in Cairo. The festival will take place on 22 and 23 May at 20 Gezira Street in Zamalek, offering visitors two days filled with music, art, food, and entertainment. With culture, live performances, and interactive experiences all in one place, Lawenha Festival is shaping up to be one of Cairo’s most colourful entertainment events this May.
