Cultures of Resistance at Beirut
An evening of film screenings and talks awaits cinophiles at Beirut in Agouza. The event starts by taking a look at modern Egyptian cinema in the talk ‘What Can Cinema Do?’, lead by film historian Omar Kholeif and film-maker Viola Shafik, to take place in English and Arabic. At 8PM, Amal Ramsis’ film ‘Forbidden’ (2011) will be screened in Arabic with English subtitles. a Q&A session with Amal Ramsis and Dalia Mostafa will follow, in Arabic.
