As a prominent step to enhance Egypt’s luxury and hospitality scene, Cairo has become home to the world’s biggest Sofitel Hotel since January 2025, with a distinctive location that overlooks the Nile in Downtown Cairo.

A Prominent Step Towards Egypt’s Expansion of Tourism

Since last year, Egypt has been experiencing a large-scale surge in tourism and attracting numerous visitors from all over the world, reaching up to 16 million tourists visiting Egypt in 2024. This requires an expansion of touristic and luxurious hospitality venues to pleasantly accommodate global visitors and elevate their experience of Egypt.

Specifically with the upcoming official opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum this July, displaying over 100,000 artefacts for the public. This grand opening of GEM will be a three-day event that will surely attract millions of foreign visitors to Cairo who can’t wait to visit the museum and revel in Egypt’s rich history and craftsmanship.

Moreover, Egypt has set active plans to improve its tourism industry further, as it’s one of the most significant contributors to Egypt’s economy. Some of these plans include offering citizens from 112 countries free entrance to Egypt without a visa. The government will also be placing their focus and efforts on the enhancement of infrastructure, investment incentives, and strategic campaigns to reach 30 million annual tourists by 2032.
