On the 13th and 14th of December, the Grand Egyptian Museum’s Glasscourt buzzed with youthful energy; over two days, The Youth Summit: Unfiltered brought together a diverse array of speakers and attendees, all united by a shared commitment to the power of unfiltered stories. The event pulsed with energy from afternoon to late evening, offering moments of connection, reflection, and unparalleled insights from some of our favourite industry leaders.

Star Power and Unfiltered Stories

The stage came alive with voices that moved and challenged the audience. Renowned actress Jamila Awad opened up about the dedication behind her craft, sharing how, during the filming of Taht El Saytara, she immersed herself in the world of recovered addicts. “I would spend a lot of time with them and ask a lot of questions to learn everything”, she revealed, underscoring her commitment to authenticity in storytelling.

Adding a playful yet profound touch to the summit, Dibo led a captivating workshop titled The Power of Play: For the Love of Shots. His session delved into the transformative impact of creativity and play, demonstrating how even the simplest actions can unlock a world of potential. It wasn’t just a fun lesson but a masterclass in using passion to fuel innovation and resilience.

Adding a hint of sports insights and resilience, Ramy Ashour, former squash world champion, emphasised the importance of a strong support system, reminding everyone that “any decision you take—whether in sport or anything else—requires a circle of support that makes you feel like you can and that you are responsible enough.”

Entrepreneurial Buzz

Entrepreneurial wisdom was also a key highlight at the event. Abdelhamid Shrara, founder of RiseUp, reflected on the often-messy journey to success. “Ninety per cent of the business decisions you take in the first ten years are absolutely wrong, but the most important thing is to learn quickly and turn these faults into facts to work according to”, he shared, inspiring budding entrepreneurs to embrace failure as an essential part of growth.

Another key highlight was the pitches from our favourite local brands, including Oragndy, Juvenile, Stolch, Decked Out, and Kato. The pitches left everyone in awe as a dedicated jury of entrepreneurs asked the contestants questions that weren’t only insightful in terms of business but also took us into the behind-the-scenes of our favourite collections.

Youthful Bites & Experiences

The Youth Summit didn’t just inspire—it also delighted attendees with a lineup of culinary favourites. From What the Crust’s award-winning pizza to Takosan’s iconic sushi-inspired bites, the selection offered some of the most crave-worthy treats in town. Holy Buns brought the heat with their sizzling creations, and of course, no energising event would be complete without a boost from Red Bull.

Beyond the food, the booths added another layer of excitement. E& captivated tech enthusiasts with cutting-edge innovations, while the SAFE app offered attendees the perfect opportunity to dive into the world of investment and financial planning.

Interactive and Immersive

Throughout the summit, every moment reinforced the theme of Unfiltered. Whether through the deeply personal anecdotes of speakers like Yasmine El Abd, Farida Osman, Ashraf Hamdy, and many more, who shared their journeys of triumph and challenge or through interactive mentorship sessions that fostered genuine connections, the event stayed true to its mission of celebrating raw, unpolished narratives.

The Youth Summit wasn’t just an event—it was a movement. A platform for Gen Z and beyond to step into their power, challenge societal norms, and embrace the unvarnished truths that drive real change. As the summit concluded, the resounding message was clear: success isn’t about perfection but persistence, passion, and the courage to show up—flaws and all.
