Like every other year, Art D’Egypte is energising the art scene in Cairo through its two mega exhibitions, Cairo International Art District and Forever Is Now. Art D’Egypte brings hundreds of local and international artists together to create and display their artworks to the public.
Cairo International Art District Fourth Edition
For the fourth year, CIAD has brought together over 100 artists to showcase their pieces in contemporary art related to Egyptian history and narratives. The exhibition has been running since the 10th of October at three different locations, Cinema Radio, Access, and The Factory, and is expected to run until the 30th.
Themed by rebirth, resurrection, identity, and collectivity, the exhibition shows various forms of art, such as sculptures, paintings, photography, AI art, furniture, carpets, and clothes.
CIAD Highlights
As CIAD comes to an end this Wednesday, here are some of the most stunning art pieces displayed at Cinema Radio.
1- The Nap by Soha El Mosly
The Nap exhibits a seemingly ordinary moment, but Soha has been able to show the wholesome intimate moments in the middle of the fatigue of motherhood, with the display of moon phases in the mother’s hair symbolising infancy, maturity, pregnancy, and sleep.
2- Endurance by Hassan Ragab

Hassan Ragab explored the role of technology in shaping our realities and perceptions; the artwork is made by AI, showing unreal people, but is undoubtedly inspired by real stories highlighting collective identity and heritage. Endurance is a part of a three-part collection called The Stance. Each part has its own story and cues; the cue for Endurance is “How much can one person take? How much can a group endure? (Look for the woman).”
3- Climbing to the Top of the Pyramids 6 and 7 by Mohamed Banawy
Continuing his series since the start of this year, Mohamed Banawy participated with these pieces in CIAD, aligning with the obvious incorporation of Scarabs in this year’s exhibition and reflecting on his piece from last year in Forever Is Now.
4- In Summer We Must Love by Omar Hegazy
The pieces simply display the spirit of a 90s Egyptian summer, showing the beautiful meanings of family company and love during summer times.
5- Alex Secretary by R’kan
Inspired by the Valentine in Alexandria painting by Adel Mustafa, R’kan once again showcased their passion for innovative design.
6- In Another World by Ghada Waleed
Exploring parallel universes with Ghada’s technicolour collage and how the pressure to have a slimmer waist may also follow women into other dimensions.
7- Khepri
Khepri is a collective project made by all the participating artists where each has been asked to sculpt their own interpretation of a scarab, creating a large centrepiece at the heart of the exhibition, highlighting unity, collectivity, diversity, and alignment. The exhibition displays a lot more exciting and mesmerising pieces. If you haven’t been yet, don’t miss the opportunity to swing by and enjoy these masterpieces.
