The cold months are the best opportunity to grab a good cup of hot coffee and enjoy the sweet sting of the winter wind. Coffee brings people together, so there is nothing better than catching up with a friend or a loved one over a coffee date. Over the past couple of years, speciality coffee places have been spreading around Cairo, and New Cairo, in particular, has witnessed many of those opening their doors. Here is your guide to a spectacular cup of coffee in the area.

After gaining popularity in Sheikh Zayed, Social Specialty Coffee opened two new branches in New Cairo around the same time, one in The Nox and another in Leven Square. Their motto is “Get up and Get Social”, and they sure make it easy! You can now order from the website and pay online 15 minutes before you need your coffee, such that you can find your order ready to pick up when you get there to avoid lines. Their Spanish and Lavender lattes, in particular, are absolutely a must-try!
Dancing Goat

Dancing Goat offers coffee and an atmosphere as unique as its name, with sweet yet strong Spanish lattes and delicious thick cookies that will make winter much more bearable. You can find them at various locations around New Cairo, including O1, St. Roll (next to Leven Square), Garden 8, and District 5. They occasionally put their coffee beans on sale so you can enjoy the rich aroma every morning from the comfort of your home.

Putting their twist on some of our beloved classics, RAF Specialty Coffee is known for its signatures, such as Honey Buzz Latte, Matcha Spanish Latte, and Iced Doree Latte. They are located in Arabella Plaza Mall and have a drive-thru option on top of their spacious sit-in area for those in a hurry. The coffee shop also welcomes you and your pets, and their Instagram encourages coffee lovers to enjoy their coffee with their furry friends.

Dedicated to offering unique choices, 20 Grams has brought back a crowd favourite – their Coconut Latte with a chunk of coconut on top for optimal flavour. Their menu is full of unique choices, such as Turkish Latte for Turkish coffee lovers with a sweet kick, and their cold brew is made over 18 hours, giving you the best possible experience.

“Better not Bitter” is their motto, which they have always stuck to with incredible coffee notes in every drink. While everyone has already tried their Spanish latte, their Vanilla Cinnamon latte is the perfect winter drink to be obsessed with. Their location near El Rehab is small, and some might prefer ordering online on their app, though we would recommend you pick your coffee up yourself, given their increased popularity and demand. We can’t not mention their delightful pastries and mille-feuilles that will compliment every coffee order.
Brown Nose

Having started as an annexe to Dara’s ice cream, Brown Nose has truly evolved as a coffee shop with locations in New Cairo in O1 and 5A by the Waterway. Their pistachio latte hits all the right spots and offers a nutty kick to your usual cup of coffee.
Seven Fortunes Coffee Roasters

A crowd favourite for a few years now, Seven Fortunes has maintained a level of consistency and outstanding quality no one can deny. It was one of the first coffee shops to introduce and perfect the famous Spanish latte in Egypt and is still a cornerstone in the local coffee shop game. You can enjoy their coffee in Waterway 1 or The Drive by the Waterway.
