Last weekend was extra special. Cairo welcomed Italy’s retired football legend, Francesco Totti, who managed to spend time with his Egyptian fans and explore some of Cairo’s beauty over his three-day stay.
Egyptian football fans witnessed a living legend last weekend when A.S. Roma’s top goal-scorer Franceso Totti visited Cairo! The Italian football player attended the screening of the UEFA Champions League final in Uptown Cairo, where he watched Real Madrid triumph over Liverpool instead of watching it at the Stade de France.
Heineken was there for Totti every step of the way as he made his mark on Egypt’s capital. They kicked things off with a surprise meet and greet for fans who got to play with one of football’s icons at Uptown Cairo’s FootPark. Totti also signed a bunch of t-shirts and soccer balls, one of which we were gifted and are happily keeping at our office!
Totti also stopped by the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, where he got a crash course in Egyptian culture thanks to Ahmed Ghoneim, the museum’s director.
Those who weren’t lucky enough to spot the retired player in person still had his digital and television appearances to look forward to. The exclusive interview between Totti and Egypt’s own football legend, Ahmad Hossam Mido, was covered exclusively by Cairo 360 and our sister platform, Cairo Gossip, so make sure you check it out on both sites!
