With an impeccable Nile view, top-notch service, and a colourful spectrum of culinary outlets, Downtown’s luxury hotel, Semiramis InterContinental Cairo, happens to be one of the go-to hotels for an unforgettable experience.

One of the things that the hotel is renowned for, is its range of opulent ballrooms that cater to all needs and occasions, including the hotel’s gem, Cleopatra Ballroom. A landmark in its own right, the 1987-born ballroom has been a witness to some of the city’s most prominent celebrations and events, opening its doors to A-list celebrities.

After a 12-month hiatus, the 18th of October saw the reopening of the Cleopatra Ballroom, in a massive celebratory ceremony that was attended by Sheikh Saud Abdul Aziz Abdullah Al-Sulaiman, Vice Chairman Semiramis Hotels Co., on behalf of H.E. Sheikh Abdul Aziz Abdullah Al-Sulaiman, Chairman and Founder of Semiramis Hotels Co.; Paul Jeanbart, Board and Founding Member, Semiramis Hotels Co.; Dieter Franke, Area General Manager Egypt & General Manager InterContinental Citystars Cairo; Sameh Sobhy, General Manager, Semiramis InterContinental Cairo. The ceremony was also attended by board members of Semiramis Hotels Co., the Semiramis InterContinental Cairo Operations and Executive Management teams, and Dar El Handassa Consultants.

Designed by Celia Chu Design & Associates, the Cleopatra Ballroom boasts a luxurious setting that comes with a modernised touch. Recreated to take up to 1847 guests, the spacious ballroom is a pillar-less, open-space venue with crystal-chandeliers-adorned high ceiling. The vast ballroom is also facilitated to be divided into four separate spaces; the Blue Nile, White Nile, Kahramana, and Morgana. For smaller meetings, there’s always the Nefertiti Lounge to turn to, which, boasting a partial Nile view, comes with a VIP lounge and a meet-and-greet area.

It’s clear that the return of Semiramis InterContinental Cairo’s Cleopatra Ballroom means the return of some of the city’s luxurious events.
