Almost a week ago, we had published an article, featuring Rania Al-Mashat’s talk with CNN about Egypt’s soar in tourism over the past period. Well, brace yourselves for two other major announcements in our prospering tourism sector. Both occurrences were published online over the past two days.    

Just yesterday, Egypt Today stated that Adventures by Disney, a touring company that is a subsidiary of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products, chose Egypt as a major tourist destination in 2020. So why is this a big deal? Up until this year, the only places that were included on its list of destinations in the Asia & Africa region were China, South Africa, and Southeast Asia with the recent addition of Japan. But as of 2020, Egypt will be one of the newest additions to the list with the first trip scheduled next year from the 5^th of May till the 14^th.

Dreams Unlimited Travel shared its detailed itinerary for future tourists with trip highlights, including tours of the Temple of Luxor, Abu Simbel, Valley of the Kings, and many other historical wonders. And of course, no trip to the land of the pharaohs is complete without an afternoon of snorkeling or diving and a breathtaking Nile cruise as well as countless other unforgettable activities. These are all merely a fraction of the extraordinary journey that lies ahead in 2020, which you can read more about on the website. It is also mentioned that advance booking will begin on the 14^th of May, 2019 and general bookings two days later.

We now move on to the second major announcement. Our formerly mentioned source quoted a statement made on Friday, “Egypt’s Ministry of Tourism will sign a deal with CNN on Tuesday to promote tourism in Egypt.” Funnily enough, a similar deal was made back in 2017 by the then tourism minister, Yehia Rashed. Further details of the agreement are yet to be revealed.    

The statement was made after Rania Al-Mashat’s participation in the World Tourism Forum in Lucrene, Switzerland with more than 500 ministers, tourism industrialists, investors, decision makers, policy makers, academics and entrepreneurs who participated in the forum according to Egypt Independent.

It was there that Egypt was selected as a model for overcoming tourism crises. Not only that, but Al-Mashat also discussed Egypt’s extensive experience in tackling crises, investments in the security sector, and our country’s higher safety ratings that have now exceeded that of the US or UK according to the annual Gallup Global Law and Order poll.
