With spring opening its arms, and winter bidding us farewell, we thought to ourselves “what better way to take advantage of the great weather than by paying a visit to a venue with a spacious outdoor seating area, where we can enjoy the spring breeze?” Accordingly, we decided to head to Al Khawaga Carlos.

Located in Maadi, the venue rocks an old vintage-like ambience and décor, with its wooden flooring. The place also boasts both an inner air-conditioned seating area, and outdoor seating areas. The venue is also filled to the brim with shimmery white chairs and puffy green couches.

Once we arrived, it was clear to us that we wanted to, as previously mentioned, take advantage of the great weather, and sit in the outdoor area. For our appetiser, we ordered Chicken Tenders Platter (39 EGP). We found this dish to be quite affordable, especially considering the quality of the plate. The dish consists of crispy chicken fingers, served alongside a honey mustard sauce. The chicken was crispy and perfectly fried, while the sauce acted as the chicken’s ideal dipping partner.

Later, we ordered a Supreme Pizza (74 EGP), and it was everything we hoped for, and more! The taste was mind-blowing, the dough was incredibly fresh, and the toppings – minced meat, salami sausage, and mozzarella cheese – were delicious.

Lastly, we treated ourselves with Lasagna (46 EGP), and we surely didn’t regret our order. The pasta used to make the lasagna was of top-quality, and the bake on the dish made us feel as though it were made from the heart. The tray was covered with slices of lasagna, bolognese sauce, white sauce and mozzarella cheese. You can never go wrong with this one; the texture and the taste were terrific.

All in all, we really enjoyed our experience here; we highly recommend hitting this spot and enjoying the outdoor seating area, before it gets far too hot!
