Egyptian squash players have been seizing one international title after the next. Today, we celebrate a new milestone in Ali Farag’s career. Farag has managed to add the PSA World Champion title to his many accomplishments, after two days of officially being announced as the World’s Number 1 Male Squash Player, according to the PSA’s rankings. We also have to say that the PSA’s rankings are dominated by Egyptians; Mohamed El Shorbagy comes in at second, Tarek Momen steals third place, while Karim Abdel Gawad sits at fourth place.
As per our female squash players, we can safely say that they also dominate the PSA’s rankings; Raneem El Welily comes in at first place, Nour El Sherbini is ranked second, while Nour El Tayeb is ranked third.
During the championship – which took place in Chicago from the 26th of February until the 2nd of March – Ali Farag recorded (3:1) during the final match against his fellow Egyptian, Tarek Moamen.
“Winning this tournament is a turning point in my career, it wouldn’t have happened without the continuous support and guidance that I have received from Wadi Degla Clubs throughout my journey,” commented Farag on his victory.
We couldn’t possibly be more proud of this amazing achievement!
