Maadi boasts some of the best restaurants in town, and just like they’re great for a night out with friends, these spots also work perfectly for a nice morning or afternoon breakfast. The quiet streets of Maadi are the best place to have a nice walk, and enjoy a delightful meal in the early hours to set you up for the rest of your day.
Eggs Bel Halloumi w El Banadora by Caracas
Have you ever had eggs Lebanese style? Caracas can give you that experience. Munch on delicious eggs with halloumi cheese, cherry tomatoes, basil, and pine nuts, in their Eggs Bel Halloumi w El Bandora (42 EGP) dish. You can boost your meal with some Manousheh to add to the Lebanese experience.
Ovio are the masters of artisan food in Cairo, their Maadi branch is hugely popular among locals, and they have one of the most hearty breakfast meals in town. Hit Ovio in the morning or afternoon to fill up on their Ovio Breakfast (98 EGP). Eggs, the way you like them, coupled with meats of crisp beef bacon and merguez sausages, on the side of toasted Artisan bread. In addition to all that, are their delicious roasted tomato, herbed mushrooms, and the sweetly delicious sweet potato picklette.
Have yourself a traditional breakfast with a twist at Paul. The French bakery and restaurant is one of the best in town, and they’ve mastered what they call, the Omelette Club (75 EGP): beef bacon and grilled mushroom between layers of omelette, all stuffed with melted cheese. On the side are their delightful tomato Provencal, and good-old hash browns. If you’re looking for something fancier, go for the Oeufs Benedict au Saumon (85 EGP) for a poached eggs and smoked salmon breakfast, or have yourself a nice croissant stuffed with smoked turkey and Camembert cheese, Croissant Dinde et Camembert (69 EGP).
Skip the sandwiches and head for the plates. From the eggs, you can get yourself a delicious Mezaghlil (20 EGP), which is a boiled egg fried with butter, or Egg and Basterma (30 EGP) for scrambled eggs with pastrami. Add to that some foul bowls, perhaps with some Sogok (25 EGP) or just Plain Foul (15 EGP), and finish it off with Plain Falafel (8 EGP), or the more spicy Stuffed Falafel with Chili (10 EGP). Spice up the meal with some Mish (15 EGP) or White Cheese and Tomato (20 EGP) on the side, then finish your meal with Molasses – Tehina (20 EGP) or a Sakalans Sandwich (25 EGP).
Desoky Melted Cheese by Desoky & Soda

Full English Breakfast by Ralph’s German Bakery
Ralph’s German Bakery has been turning heads in Dahab for a while, and decided to land here in Maadi to do the same. Their bakery items are delightful, and of course, that’s one way to have breakfast. But if you’re looking for an English breakfast, the German Bakery does it quite well. Their Full English Breakfast (65 EGP) comes as scrambled eggs with a hot dog and beef bacon, with a side of baked beans, mushrooms with caramelised onions, and a green salad.
Egg Benedict by Casper & Gambini’s
Casper & Gambini’s has one of the best breakfast dishes in town with their Egg Benedict (89 EGP). You could argue that it’s the best poached eggs in town, and you’ll have quite a strong argument. The eggs come atop light ciabatta bread with spinach and hollandaise sauce, and on the side you’ll have perfectly roasted potato cubes.
The Classic Breakfast by Lucille’s
One of the oldest restaurants in Maadi, Lucille’s claim to have the best burger in town, and right now it makes a strong claim for the best breakfast. Their Classic Breakfast (80-90 EGP) offers two eggs, toast, bacon, and two signature golden-brown pancakes. It sounds too simple, but trust us, the taste is delightful.
Beef Sausage Casserole Frank & Co
How about sharing a breakfast with loved ones? One of Frank & Co’s best dishes is their Beef Sausage Casserole (105 EGP), a huge Pyrex baking dish, perfect for sharing among loved ones. Munch on the delicious casserole of hot dog slices, crispy bacon, cherry tomatoes, Cheddar cheese, onions, and two sunny-side up eggs.
