Haven’t you just had it with this month? All work and no play is not good for anyone, but thankfully it’s time to play hard over the weekend. We’re bringing you the best events to get you refuelled for December, and showing you all that’s going on around Cairo for you to plan your perfect weekend.

Thursday is the key to starting off your weekend right, so if you’re looking for some hot beats at a ritzy spot, hit OPIA Cairo as Nader Nelson plays some of the freshest tracks in town. On the outskirts of Cairo, you can enjoy ZawZaw’s pop hits at The Tap East, or get cheesy with pop tunes as Cheeseballs light up The Tap Maadi. If you’re looking for something a bit more melodic, hit CJC 610 for a night of three artists featuring Elias Doré, Pandhora, and Sebzz on the decks.

You can also go a bit oriental this Thursday as Hassan El Kholaky performs live at Gu Lounge, while the Egyptian Project and Bahiyya combine for a unique oriental musical night at CJC. There’s always room for a dose of classical, starting a bit earlier with a Gala Concert at Arab Music Institute. You can also hit Darb 1718 for a jazz night from the Gypsy Jazz Project, or enjoy Michelle Rounds’ live performance at the Jazz Bar in Kempinski Nile Cairo. Finally, you don’t want to miss superstar Angham performing live with her beautiful voice at The Marquee Theatre in Cairo Festival City.

After you start Thursday with a bang, you can keep the party going on Friday with legendary DJ and producer Sébastien Léger, coming from France all the way to Andiamo Pizza & Garden Bar. Or hit The Tap West for a musical night featuring Malak Sound and DJ Feedo. The Tap Maadi is offering a different experience with Seattle Band performing top Nirvana hits, followed by Ahmed Samy on the decks. There’s always the option of going oriental at CJC 610 as Ehab Tawfik performs nostalgic hits, followed by Ramy DJunkie on the decks.

But if you really want some Arabic tunes, don’t miss megastar Amr Diab celebrating the launch of his album, Kol Hayati, at Cairo Festival City. You can also go to see Nesma Abdel Aziz and her marimba skills at Cairo Opera House. Switching back to English music, Paranoid Eyes are playing hot Pink Floyd covers at Darb 1718. If a celebration of food is more your style, try out the Lunch Cruise at the Marquise at Grand Nile Towers, or go for brunch at The Tap West, with Mariam Ghareeb and Hussein Gamal supplying the entertainment. Finally, you can opt for a hilarious experience at the Stand-up Comedy Show at 9 Share3 Adly, or witness Al Hezb El Comedy in action on the other side of town at 302Labs.

To finish off the weekend in style, here are your Saturday choices. Go oriental at Gu Lounge with Mahmoud El Laithy, or try something more poppy at The Tap West with DJ Teddy. DJ Sewwes is bringing some serious funk to The Tap Maadi, while Massar Egbari are celebrating their album, El Album, in style at The Tap East with a captivating live performance.

You can always go for some more oriental as the renowned Tunisian singer, Ghalia Benali hits CJC for a soothing live performance, or hit El Sawy Culturewheel as their puppetry show of Om Kalthoum returns with a playback of her most beautiful songs. Again, food is always a great option for a celebration. You can make the best of Okashi Restaurant’s All-You-Can-Eat-Sushi offer with an extensive menu and teppanyaki stations, or hit CJC 610 for a Saturday Brunch and chill with The Woodpeckers, and Ayman Nageeb on the decks.
