Cairo 360
Hello, Cairo! With ‘Sahel Season’ nearing its end, you expect to see the country’s best musical talents return to the capital – hooray! In the meantime, though, this weekend has some tasty-looking events to sink your teeth into, including a particular treat for Harry Potter fans on Saturday – but more on the later.
Thursday sees the Tap Maadi serve up a treat in the form of two men who don’t perform as much as maybe many would like, as Minus T and NeoByrd take to the DJ booth. Over in New Cairo, meanwhile, the Tap East kicks off its weekend with the hip-hop sets of Fat Sam.
Music of the electronic kind can also be found at the Garden Nile Front in Manial, where DJ Nada returns, while Cairo Jazz Club will be providing a live music fix in the shape of Screwdriver, as will After Eight in Downtown Cairo, where Salalem perform.
Elsewhere, Garden City’s ROOM Art Space welcomes back unique pop-rock group, Do’souka, 3elbt Alwan in Zamalek hosts Peace of Sound, while Ahmed Harfoush takes to the stage at Cheers in Maadi.
At the other end of the musical scale, the colourful Rango perform at El Dammah Theatre, while increasingly popular brass band, El Nafikha, set a busy weekend in motion at El Sawy Culturewheel.

Tance and vocal deep house are on the menu at Cairo Jazz Club on Friday, meanwhile, with Cairo’s Fairouz T and London-based Egyptian DJ, Omar Sherif, taking centre-stage, while Funk Off return to the Tap Maadi.
Elsewhere, Basheer brings his Nubian-infused music to After Eight and Omar Ghali serves up a big slice of acoustic rock at 3elbt Alwan, while the inimitable Shereen Abdo performs at ROOM Art Space.
One of the highlight events at Cairo Opera House this weekend comes in the form of a special gig by Basata Band, while over at El Sawy Culturewheel, Eskenderella take to the stage with Amin Hadad.
Saturday is a big day for Harry Potter fans in Cairo, as the Patient Support Team follows up their wildly successful Harry Potter Experience, with another, this time at Mansoureya Park.
